Asian Highway 26 Motorcycle Caravan

Offshoot to the successful 2-Wheel Relay Ride for a C.A.U.S.E. (Call for Action, Unity, Safety and Equality) in October-November 2012, MDPPA is partnering again with the Department of Transportation and Communication for the 3,540-kilometers Asian Highway 26 (AH26) Motorcycle Caravan. The Caravan has for its objectives the following:

  1. Promote network link and cooperation of motorcycle riders across the country in a concerted effort of advocating road safety via the national road system or the Asian Highway 26 or the Philippine Maharlika Highway.
  2. Pursue “Helmet On, Headlight On” (H20) Program by increasing awareness and understanding on the advantages of always switching headlight on and the proper wearing of standard protective helmets while riding on a motorcycle.
  3. Appropriate acknowledgment of the victims of road traffic crashes and their families and to respond to their great need for public recognition of their loss and suffering during the World Day of Remembrance (WDR).

With MDPPA-members club riders leading the pack, hundreds of motorcycle riders from various provinces are expected to join the Caravan along the way as the group passes through the Asian Highway 26 kicking off in Laoag City in northern Philippines on October 27 and culminating in Zamboanga City down south for the observance of the World Day of Remembrance on November 17.
